Comprehensive Training for Well-Rounded Goldendoodles
At Kathy’s Doodles, we believe that early education is key to raising well-rounded goldendoodle puppies. Our comprehensive puppy curriculum includes early socialization, basic training, and exposure to various environments and stimuli. From a young age, we introduce our puppies to different sounds, textures, and experiences to build their confidence and adaptability. We focus on potty training, crate training, and basic commands to give your new puppy a solid foundation for future learning.

First Weeks and Months are Crucial for Goldendoodles
Kathy’s goal as a breeder is to enrich her puppies’ lives as much as possible is the small amount of time we have with them. Those first weeks and months are crucial for them to be happy, healthy pups and to give a human that best friend that they have always been looking for.
Kathy’s Doodles follows the Badass Breeders mentoring program, which includes both the ESI (Early Scent Introduction) and the ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) recommendations for exposure and handling. We expose them to a variety of different items, environments, handling, and socialization techniques. All of this is done in a strategic and proven manner.
Relying on Early Scent Introduction
Since puppies can’t see or hear well when they are born they rely on their smell for information, that where the ESI in so important, we expose them to different objects for the smell, scents that they will more than likely encounter in their environment. During this early time we handle them as little as possible, letting mom love on them.
An important part of this program is the handling protocol. We use a 10-point handling process, touching their ears, eyes, nose, mouth, all four feet (including nails), tail, neck (tugging on collar), rubbing your hands down its back and of course the belly rub. Starting this out very gently, adding more pressure as time goes on. You should always handle your pup with love and tenderness, next to your cheek and close to your heart. This helps when the puppy must go somewhere like the groomer or the vet.
We Introduce the Goldendoodle Puppies to a Variety of Objects
We expose them to a variety of objects (balls, steps, ball pits, tunnels, etc.). We move them from room to room in our house – exposing them to TV’s, people (men, women and kids), household sights and sounds, and different music. Kathy puts cartoons on for them when they are in their play/curriculum and lullabies when they sleep. All of my dogs and puppies are a part of my everyday life in my home, and treated like family.
We want our pups when they go to their forever homes to be the best that they can be for their new families. The pups should be well adjusted and familiar with most of the things they will be exposed to when they leave.
